MAIN CHARACTERS OF AC VFD TOP DRIVE SYSTEM

By adopting AC variable-frequency motor as the power source, there isn't spark of DC motor's carbon brush, which is a safe protection.

By adopting stands for drilling, the connection time will be reduced by 2/3.

 In case of jamming pipe during a round trip, the top drive system can connect drill string on any height of the mast, circulate mud, rotate drill tools and reverse reaming fast, to avoid sticking accidents.

Adopting the motor to tighten/loosen, make up/break down drill pipe connection, to facilitate drilling work.

Equipped with pipe handling device, mechanization level of make up/break out pipe connection and handling efficiency of drill tools is improved, and labor intensity as well as danger for drillers are reduced greatly.

Equipped with remote IBOP, the main shaft of top drive can switch off IBOP rapidly in case of blowout and kick to ensure the safety of well control.

Drilling without using rotary table and with only rotary drill pipe on the rig floor, it will be safer for wellhead operation.

By virtue of the centralizing function of elevator link inclining device, disordered and wrong connecting can be avoided during makeup, so as to improve efficiency of operation.

While tripping the casing in, it can be rotated and mud circulated to reduce frictional resistance of under gauged interval and provide convenience for the casing to pass.

It can core and trip in one stand continuously, to reduce the frequency of tripping out.

Makeup and drilling torques can be controlled.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERS OF BOMCO AC VFD TOP DRIVE SYSTEM

The top drive system is powered by one or two AC variable-frequency motor(s) and decelerated by gear box to drive the central pipe to rotate drill pipe.

Adopt one-to-one control while two main rotors as power source, and single motor operation or double motor operation is optional.

The hoisting system adopts double-load-passage structure with BOMCO own patent technology; Drilling and tripping is in different load passage; Load of drill tool will not pass through the main bearing while tripping, and service life of main bearing is therefore prolonged.

Four-point floating pliers are adopted for clamping drill tool joint reliably by side-attached back-up wrench for clamp coupling with BOMCO own patent technology. The whole caliper can be moved up as a whole and it is convenient to change saver sub and IBOP.

With hydraulic disc brake, it is a helping role for drill tools direction in directional drilling.

Adopting single guide that is connected by double pin and locked by lock-pin, it is easy for assembly and disassembly.

The key elements, such as hydraulic pump, hydraulic control valve unit, sealing component and bearing, etc, are all imported to ensure reliable operation.

With centralized power supply system, all power requirements of top drive can be satisfied only by inputting 600V 50HZ AC to its electric control room.

The control circuit adopts cold redundancy mode of two programmable logic controllers (PLC), which composes Profibus-DP net via field bus technology and is of various functions such as safe interlocking, monitoring, alarming, self diagnosing to ensure reliable operation of the system.

Explosion proof control box of monkey board enables derrick men to control the rotation of rotating head and inclination of elevator link and provide convenience for derrick men. Explosion proof control box of monkey board can be turned off by driller on driller's console.

Both cables and hydraulic pipelines adopt fast connection, which is convenient for on site assembly and disassembly.

Modularized design and package facilitate on site installation and moving.

Special design for working condition of offshore drilling.
